Posting: Sylt Foundation African writers’ Residency Programme

Another good residency for all African Writers of contemporary African literature.

Deadline for application submission is February 15, 2013.

The Sylt Foundation first established the artists’ residency specifically for South African artists, hence the reason why all the previous winners/beneficiaries have been South Africans: Strijdom van der Merwe, Mbongeni Buthelezi, Paul Emmanuel, Bernie Searle, Santu Mofokeng, Mary Sibande, Imraan Coovadia, Antjie Krog, Andre Brink, Niq Mhlongo, Ivan Vladislavic, Gabeba Baderoon, Kgafela oa Magogodi, Lebogang Mashile and others. Later this year, the Foundation launched the African Writers Residency Programme.

In brief: The African Writer’s Residency Programme offers a two month international working stay at the Foundation to writers of contemporary African literature, who are related to or engaging with contemporary themes and concerns of Africa and the African Diaspora.
