The programme was designed to create a step-change in the book sector in Africa, by focusing on professional development of upcoming talent in African publishing through training, mentoring and on-going support to gain experience in publishing.

This edition has seen a dramatic increase in the number of applications, from 120 in the first edition in 2018, to 293 this year. Six countries, as represented on this list, were targeted.

The successful Fellows will participate in a week-long Mentoring and Training workshop in Uganda, and will be invited to apply for a seed funding budget worth €4,200. The winner will use the funds to publish their on-going publishing project.

We congratulate the selected Fellows and wish them a successful publishing journey ahead.”
