AWT is growing, connecting Africa-wide, and pleased to have a new board member, Leila Aboulela, who writes from her rich North Africa heritage and experiences. Aboulela has lived ‘globally’ among different cultures, and is a true vision of the conditions experienced by most African writers today, who find themselves part of the Diaspora, but continue to draw inspiration from old and new homelands. Mash’Allah a great achievement. I am happy to see AWT extend their welcome to Leila Aboulela who has opened many doors regarding misconceptions and prejudices regarding Africa. I hope that her addition will make AWT an even stronger organization.
